Blackpink is one of K-pop’s hottest groups at the moment, particularly in the US, where they’ve become the highest charting all-female K-pop group on Billboard’s Hot 100 with their single “Kill this Love” which was released earlier this year. Blackwind is launching on the PS5 (review platform), PS4, PC via Steam, Mac, Xbox One, Xbox Series SX and Nintendo Switch on January 20th, 2022. While the choreography in the clip is outstanding, it’s the addition of “Boombayah” by K-pop sensation Blackpink that really turns this clip into something special. With some of the best action stars and talent in the business at the helm, the show’s sure to have plenty of incredible fights. Acclaimed Hong Kong action director Stephen Fung will also be joining the series to direct the first two episodes. Joining Uwais in the cast will be Vikings’ Katheryn Winnick, and Altered Carbon’s Byron Mann. As a Wu Assassin, he’s forced to defend San Francisco’s Chinatown from the forces of evil.
The show will follow Uwais as an aspiring chef who discovers he’s actually a Wu Assassin.
